ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ಹೈದರಬಾದ್ ಹೀಗೆ ಭಾರತ ದೇಶದ ಒಳಗೆ ವಿಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಾಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ವಿಮಾನವು ಭಾರತದೊಳಗಿನ ಯಾವುದೇ ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಲಿ/ ತಲುಪಲಿ, ಹೊರಡುವ/ ತಲುಪುವ ಊರಿನ ಭಾಷೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಇರಲಿ ವಿಮಾನದೊಳಗಿನ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿ/ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಶ್ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಿಂದಿಯೊಂದೇ ಈ ದೇಶದ ಭಾಷೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಭ್ರಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಭಾರತದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದ ವಿಮಾನಯಾನ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯವೂ ವಿಮಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಈ ಹುಳುಕು ಭಾಷಾ ನೀತಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಿ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಜನರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಸುಮಾರು 25% ನಷ್ಟಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಶದ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವವರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಸುಮಾರು 7% ಇದೆ. ವಿಮಾನಯಾನ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಭಾಷಾ ನೀತಿಯು ಹಿಂದಿ/ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಶ್ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಕೋಟಿ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ನಡೆಸುವ ವಿಮಾನಯಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬಳಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತೆ ವಿಮಾನ ಹೊರಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ತಲುಪುವ ಊರಿನ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಿಷಯವಲ್ಲ.
ವಿಮಾನಯಾನ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯು ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗಮನಹರಿಸಿ, ಹೊರಡುವ/ ತಲುಪುವ ಊರಿನ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ಭಾಷಾ ನೀತಿ ರೂಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಮಾನಯನ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸೋಣ

If language spoken at home is the mother tongue, language of the land (of the state) is the father tongue.
ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಅಳಿಸಿFor every child raised in Karnataka, Kannada is his/her father tongue. If they speak Hindi at home, then Hindi is their mother tongue.
Kannada should be the primary language in Karnataka. We should be clear that father tongue, and not mother tongue, should get primacy. This distinction should go a long way to find a solution. Mother tongue brings its own set of problems.
Children are not linguistic minorities where they grow up. A non-Kannadiga growing up in Karnataka cannot be considered a linguistic-minority -- it is so absurd.
The above is the Swiss model of language/education. It is what we are fighting for here in India. Enforce Kannada medium on children of Hindi migrants living in the state. Not Hindi on Kannadigas living in their home state.
In ancient India, people migrating to a different region fully assimilated. A hundred years ago, even Muslims spoke regional language, not Urdu. The Swiss model will bring this much needed assimilation.
